The Liga Națională, formerly known as Divizia A, is the women's top-tier professional basketball league of Romania. Established in 1950, it is currently contested by eleven teams. Universitatea Cluj-Napoca is the Liga Națională's most successful club with fourteen titles including a ten-years winning streak between 1984 and 1994, while CSM Târgoviște and ICIM Arad have dominated the championship in subsequent years with ten and eight titles respectively.
In 2013 the Romanian champion took part in the FIBA Euroleague for the first time since the competition's refoundation in 1997.
Roemenië - Divizia A - Dames is een professionele basketbalcompetitie voor vrouwen in Roemenië. De competitie werd opgericht in 1951 en wordt georganiseerd door de Roemeense Basketbalfederatie. Het hoogste niveau van de competitie is de Liga Națională, gevolgd door de Divizia A en Divizia B. De competitie omvat 14 teams die een reguliere competitie spelen, gevolgd door een play-off systeem om de kampioen te bepalen. De kampioen van de Divizia A promoveert naar de Liga Națională, terwijl de onderste twee teams degraderen naar de Divizia B. De meest succesvolle teams in de Divizia A zijn SCM Timisoara en CSU Cluj-Napoca, die beide 10 titels hebben gewonnen. De huidige titelhouder is CSM Satu Mare.
