Wikipedia - Baniyas SC

Baniyas Sports & Culture Club (Arabisch:نادي بني ياس) is een club uit Baniyas in de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten. De club is ontstaan in 1981 en speelt in het Baniyas-stadion dat 9.570 zetels telt.

In 2009 werd de club kampioen in de tweede divisie A en promoveerde naar de VAE Liga waarin in 2011 een tweede plaats behaald werd.

Baniyas SC (Arabisch: نادي بني ياس الرياضي) is een voetbalclub uit de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten uit Baniyas, nabij Abu Dhabi. De club werd opgericht in 1982 en speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Baniyas Stadium, dat plaats biedt aan 10.000 toeschouwers. Baniyas SC heeft tweemaal de UAE Arabian Gulf League gewonnen, in 1990 en 1992, en heeft ook tweemaal de UAE President's Cup gewonnen, in 1991 en 1992. In 2008 won de club de UAE Federation Cup.

Baniyas SC heeft verschillende bekende spelers gehad, waaronder de Egyptenaren Hossam Hassan en Ahmed Hossam "Mido", de Braziliaan Denílson en de Nederlander Ryan Babel. De huidige hoofdcoach van de club is de Roemeen Daniel Isăilă.

Het clublogo van Baniyas SC bestaat uit een witte adelaar met een voetbal in zijn klauwen, geplaatst op een rode achtergrond. Het motto van de club is "De trots van Baniyas".
