FIH Pro League

The Men's FIH Pro League is an international men's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Men's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and the first edition also did for the Olympic Games.

The first edition started in 2019. Nine teams secured their places for four years.

De FIH Pro League is een internationale professionele hockeycompetitie voor mannen- en vrouwenlandenteams. De competitie werd in 2019 opgericht door de Internationale Hockey Federatie (FIH) en verving de Hockey World League.

De Pro League bestaat uit negen teams in zowel de mannen- als vrouwendivisie. De teams spelen een thuis- en uitwedstrijd tegen elkaar, wat resulteert in 16 wedstrijden in de reguliere competitie. De vier beste teams in elke divisie plaatsen zich voor de finale, die wordt gespeeld in een knock-outformaat.

De Pro League biedt een platform voor de beste hockeyteams ter wereld om regelmatig tegen elkaar te spelen en biedt een cruciale bron van financiering en ondersteuning voor de betrokken landen. De competitie heeft ook als doel de ontwikkeling van hockey wereldwijd te bevorderen en het profiel van de sport te vergroten.
