Wikipedia - Qatar men's national 3x3 team
The Qatar men's national 3x3 team represents the country in international 3x3 basketball (3 against 3) competitions. It is administered by the Qatar Basketball Federation. (Arabic: الاتحاد القطري لكرة السلة)
In 2014, Qatar were the reigning 3x3 basketball World Champions as well as the Champion of Asia. The team also won the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions of the GCC 3x3 Basketball Championships.
Qatar 3x3 is het 3x3 nationale mannenteam van Qatar. De ploeg vertegenwoordigt Qatar tijdens internationale 3x3-toernooien, zoals de FIBA 3x3 World Cup en de Aziatische Spelen.
De ploeg werd in 2019 opgericht en heeft zich sindsdien snel opgewerkt tot een van de beste 3x3-teams ter wereld. In 2021 won het team de FIBA 3x3 World Cup en werd het daarmee het eerste Aziatische team dat een wereldtitel won in een FIBA 3x3-toernooi.
De ploeg bestaat uit vier spelers:
* Al-Abi Abdirahman
* Mohamed Saleh
* Moustafa Fouda
* Chimi Omar
De ploeg wordt gecoacht door de voormalige Qatarese international Hussein Mostafa.
Qatar 3x3 is een van de meest succesvolle 3x3-teams ter wereld. Ze hebben de afgelopen jaren een aantal belangrijke toernooien gewonnen, waaronder de FIBA 3x3 World Cup en de Aziatische Spelen. De ploeg wordt gezien als een van de favorieten om de gouden medaille te winnen op de Olympische Spelen van 2024 in Parijs.
