In 1968, Alumni qualified for the Torneo Federal, the third division of Argentine football at the time.
In 1984, Alumni made it to the semi-finals of the Torneo Federal, but lost to Deportivo Armenio. The club continued to play in the Torneo Federal until 2005, when it was relegated to the Torneo Argentino B, the fourth division. In 2011, Alumni won the Torneo Argentino B and returned to the Torneo Federal A.
