Wikipedia - Border Security Force (football team)

Border Security Force Sporting Club is an Indian multi-sports club best known for its football team. The club is based in Jalandhar, Punjab, and currently competing in the Punjab State Super Football League. They are one of the dominating teams in Independence Day Cup of Assam.

BSF's corporate team competed in All India Public Sector tournament.

History

The team is well known for winning the prestigious Durand Cup on seven occasions during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Legendary player Sukhwinder Singh represented the club from 1974 to 1978.

The team also spent one season in the old National Football League during the 1999–2000 season. They were relegated after finishing in 11th place.

BSF FC is een Indiase voetbalclub uit de stad New Delhi. De club werd opgericht in 2012 en speelt haar thuiswedstrijden in het Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. BSF FC is de voetbalclub van de Border Security Force, een paramilitaire organisatie in India.

In 2016 promoveerde BSF FC naar de I-League, de hoogste voetbaldivisie van India. In het seizoen 2016-2017 eindigde de club als zesde. In het seizoen 2017-2018 eindigde de club als negende. In het seizoen 2018-2019 degradeerde de club naar de I-League 2nd Division.

BSF FC heeft nog nooit een grote prijs gewonnen.
