Persatuan Sepakbola Lamongan, or commonly known as Persela, is an Indonesian football club based in Lamongan, East Java. Currently the club plays in Liga 2, the second tier of football competition in the country.

History

Although it has been established since 18 April 1967, Persela just started to show its existence in 2003, nine years after the national football competition entered the professional era in 1994. Before 2003, Persela used to play in the lower divisions (first or second division in Liga Indonesia) but now plays in the Super League.

On 15 October 2017, the main goalkeeper of Persela, Choirul Huda, died from the injuries sustained during a match against Semen Padang F.C. in a Liga 1 match, the highest tier of football league in Indonesia.

In the Winter of 2017, Englishman Judan Ali was signed on a 2 year contract as their first Technical Director

Persela Lamongan U20 is een Indonesisch voetbalteam uit Lamongan, Oost-Java. Het is het jeugdteam van Persela Lamongan, dat uitkomt in de Liga 1, de hoogste voetbaldivisie van Indonesië. Persela Lamongan U20 speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Surajaya Stadion in Lamongan.

Het team werd opgericht in 2010 en speelt sindsdien in de Liga 1 U-20, de hoogste jeugddivisie van Indonesië. Persela Lamongan U20 heeft nog nooit een prijs gewonnen, maar heeft wel enkele goede resultaten behaald in de competitie. In 2016 werd het team tweede in de Liga 1 U-20 en in 2018 bereikte het de halve finales van de Elite Pro Academy U-20.

Persela Lamongan U20 staat bekend om zijn aanvallende speelstijl en heeft enkele talentvolle spelers in zijn gelederen. Enkele van de meest bekende spelers die door Persela Lamongan U20 zijn opgeleid, zijn Evan Dimas, Ilham Udin Armaiyn en Ricky Kambuaya.
