FC Lokomotiv Gomel is a Belarusian football club based in Gomel.

History

The team was founded in 2008 as Gomelzheldortrans, and later that same year, they won the Gomel Oblast championship. Following a successful performance in the final tournament among the winners of regional leagues, at the end of the year, the Gomelzheldortrans were promoted to the Belarusian Second League. In 2014, Gomelzheldortrans made their debut in the First League.

In December 2016, the club changed its name to Lokomotiv Gomel

FK Lokomotiv Gomel (Wit-Russisch: ФК Лакаматыў Гомель) is een Wit-Russische voetbalclub uit Gomel, opgericht in 2008. De club speelt in de Vysjejsjaja Liga, de hoogste voetbalklasse in Wit-Rusland.

Lokomotiv Gomel werd in 2008 opgericht door de Wit-Russische spoorwegen en is de opvolger van de in 2006 ter ziele gegane club FC Gomel. De club begon in de Droegaja Liga, de derde voetbalklasse in Wit-Rusland, en promoveerde in 2010 naar de Persjaja Liga, de tweede voetbalklasse. In 2016 werd de club kampioen van de Persjaja Liga en promoveerde naar de Vysjejsjaja Liga.

Lokomotiv Gomel speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het CSK Neman Stadium, dat plaats biedt aan 14.307 toeschouwers. De clubkleuren zijn rood-groen.

Het grootste succes van Lokomotiv Gomel is het winnen van de Beker van Wit-Rusland in 2022. In de finale werd BATE Borisov verslagen met 2-1.
